Our IPS works and is committed to contributing to the protection of the environment through the constant promotion of environmental responsibility among all collaborators as a symbol of the commitment acquired with the protection of the environment. This is how strategies are developed to prevent, mitigate and compensate for negative environmental impacts (pollution prevention) generated in the provision of health services.

This environmental policy from waste management by the IPS Estudios Endoscopios is aimed at:

  • Provide our users with a service with the highest quality standards, in technical, scientific, safety and efficiency terms, emphasizing the adoption of measures to minimize the risk of acquiring diseases.
  • The design, structure and provision of services will be carried out in compliance with current legal regulations, care guides, responsibilities and procedures manuals, security measures and in all cases taking into account social and environmental responsibility.
  • Guarantee staff, users, visitors, contractors and suppliers, continuing education and technical training on risks and security measures.
  • Guarantee safety measures for employees and users that minimize the risks of biological contamination due to health service provision activities.
  • Establish responsibilities and procedures for the proper management of waste, generating a program and a culture of environmental commitment by IPS workers, raising safety and awareness in them; based on behaviors and actions, through adequate comprehensive management of hospital waste, with the purpose of minimizing risk factors to the health of the population consulting Endoscopic Studies; preventing, mitigating and compensating environmental and health impacts.
  • Establish safety measures to prevent accidents and resolve unforeseen events in the handling, collection and transportation of waste.
  • Promote and raise awareness of the efficient use and saving of water among all officials, patients and visitors, through training programs, campaigns and awareness-raising activities and generating an institutional environmental culture.
  • Develop, implement and promote an electric energy saving program for all employees, patients and visitors, through training programs, campaigns and awareness activities to generate an institutional environmental culture.
  • Develop and implement a program for the efficient use of paper by reducing its consumption, reusing and recycling it.
  • Promote and generate an environmental culture program, by reducing office items and reusing them, classifying them appropriately, thus promoting the correct final disposal of waste.
  • Ensure compliance with the proper management and final disposal of dumping, solid waste, electronic waste, gas and sound emissions, among other environmental polluting agents.
  • Contribute and collaborate with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as global goals, which are the universal call to adopt measures to protect the environment.
  • Create, update and execute the respective plans, programs, projects and strategies in order to guarantee the care of the environment within Endoscopic Studies, in accordance with compliance with the principles of the Environmental Management System in Colombia.
